The Excitement Continues at Yas Gaming Festival With UAE Previews of 2 Popular Video Games Plus Educational Panel for Parents
Abu Dhabi, 29 August 2018This week, the excitement continues in Abu Dhabi, as crowds continue to flock to gamers paradise, Yas Gaming Festival, held in partnership with IGN. Running every day from 10:00am – 10:00pm at Yas Mall’s Town Square, Yas Gaming Festival provides a totally interactive experience combining cosplay, fun multi-player tournaments, retro arcades, e-sports and virtual reality, inviting players of all ages to game together and put their skills to the test.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! What makes this week’s Yas Gaming Festival extra special is the exclusive, UAE launch of popular video games Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 (PES 2019) and Naruto to Baruto: Shinobi Striker. From Thursday 30thAugust and throughout the weekend, visitors will be given the incredible opportunity to play these amazing new games for the first time in the UAE, which are solely available at Yas Gaming Festival. These games are real-crowd pleasers, as PES 2019 is extremely popular with football fans whatever their age, whereas Naruto to Baruto: Shinobi Striker has similarly brought together gamers from all over the world.
Yas Mall takes their responsibility to gaming very seriously and so on Friday at 4:00pm will host an insightful educational panel, with input from regional experts, Dr. Thoraiya Kanafani, Clinical Director and Psychologist and Co-Owner of HRIC, Fakhra AlMansouri, Founder, CEO and Game Director of Hybrid Humans, Nick Rego, Group Editor of IGN Middle East, and Abbas Jaffar Ali, Editor of TechRadar Middle East.
During the educational panel the experts will be giving tips to parents on how to choose the right game, what approach they should take and how they can monitor their children’s gaming so that their children get the most out of this enjoyable activity that can teach them many problem-solving skills. Topics such as parental controls, microtransactions and game development will also be discussed with the goal of empowering parents to make the right decisions for their children.
Finally, as the community is part of every Yas Mall activity, the festival will also include the charity campaign Gaming4Good, where visitors are asked to donate their old games and consoles by 30thAugust, with a sale taking place the next day and all proceeds will be donated in support of Autism Awareness.
The Yas Gaming Festival will continue until 1stSeptember and is free to play and open to all at Yas Mall’s Town Square from 10:00am-10:00pm.
