Yas Mall, the leading destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, hosted a very successful event celebrating Kuwait’s National day which took place on the 24th of February right in the heart of Towns Square.
The festival was inaugurated by H.E Sheikh Fahad Al Sabah and attended by HE.Salah Albaijan, the Kuwaiti Ambassador in UAE, along with other VIP guests from the Kuwaiti Embassy. The activities of the event were organised by Turnberry Kuwait Foundation Conferences & Exhibitions in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
H.E Sheikh Fahad Al Sabah commented: “This festival is really outstanding in the way it presents very innovative activities to the audience, offering them a great opportunity to know the culture, art and heritage of Kuwait. It also showcases and the achievements of the Kuwaiti young generation and creative talents who won renowned regional and international awards, inspiring visitors from all ages and nationalities at Yas Mall.”
Dr. Ali Abbas Alnaqi, CEO of Turnberry Kuwait Foundation Conferences & Exhibitions also said: "This festival aims to activate the public diplomacy concept to support the diplomatic relations across the GCC, and to stress on the importance of solidarity among the people in this region. It also contributes in promoting for Abu Dhabi as an iconic touristic destination engaging with all visitors in alluring events and activities such as these.”

The event showcased the rich and beautiful Kuwaiti heritage through a variety of traditional activities and cultural performances spread throughout the mall. The event which was given the following title; "Celebrating Kuwait at our home UAE"; strived to showcase the strong ties between the UAE and Kuwait.
Hundreds of mall visitors were entertained during the event which included traditional activities and a series of themed live activities covering innovation, environment and art.
Moreover, mall visitors received 500 pieces of the National Flower of Kuwait, "Arfag", which was produced in collaboration with Kuwaiti environmental agencies and a group of Kuwaiti volunteers celebrating the UAE’s “Year of Giving”. A talented Kuwaiti artist Mohammed Al Faresi fascinating selection of his work. Al Farsi is an award winning artist and a member of local and international art associations, including Kuwait Arts Association, General Union of Arab Artists, and the International Association of Art in Paris.
The event also welcomed Ali Shehab, a young Kuwaiti ambassador of Down syndrome, who gave a motivational speech to the visitors about his life experience and challenges.
